New Berlin Industrial Lion's Newsletter August, 2002

August 2002 was a quiet month for our club. We had just completed another successful Spike for Sight fundraiser and were able to relax briefly as we started to plan our fall Bocce Ball fundraiser. The fall event will be open to the public in hopes of attracting more participation than the Lions only events. Lions Mike Kellman and Tom Haase are co-chairman of the Bocce Ball committee. The tentative date is set for November 16th at the New Berlin VFW.

Our club again provided helpers to the New Berlin Evening club's corn roast booth at the Wisconsin State fair. Sixteen people worked hard and had a good time on August 2nd, our annual participation date.

We purchased raffle tickets from the Hales Corners Lion Club. First prize was two tickets to three Green Bay Packer games. Surprise - surprise, we won. It was decided that we would auction off the tickets. Lion Tim Enters out bid everyone for the tickets to the Tennessee game. The remaining two games are -

      Carolina - September 29th
      and Detroit - November 10th.

Who will be the high bidder for the next game?

We voted to host the zone meeting to be held on October 23rd at the Legacy Restaurant. To insure high attendance, this meeting will replace our regular meeting on October 16th.

We decided to donate $200.00 to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund in the name of Industrial Towel and Uniform, the major sponsor of this years Spike for Sight Tournament.
