Mary Mueller of Heritage at Deer Creek, 147th & National Ave, addressed our club about "assisted living" and the costs of elderly care.

Lion Jerry Louward circulated a membership roster for members to update with current information, especially e-mail addresses. Lion Jerry indicated that he will be writing a monthly newsletter and would like to e-mail it to the members. Anyone that has not done so should contact Lion Jerry with their current information. Lion Bob Fellenz reported that Industrial Towel & Uniform has agreed to be a major sponsor for our Spike For Sight volleyball fundraiser. They will provide the shirts. (A cost of approximately $1,000). M&I Bank has agreed to provide $500.00 to sponsor the event. We still need one more major sponsor. Lion Tim Enters updated us on the preparations for the tournament. It was decided that the club will open a Post Office Box at the New Berlin Post Office. The box will be used for all club communications as well as reservations for the tournament. Lion Jack Winter will renew our raffle license. Landmark Credit Union has agreed to be a corporate sponsor. Lion Bob Fellenz will be contacting Midwest Express for possible donation of airline tickets for a raffle prize. North Shore Bank will be donating Brewers Tickets. The Waukesha Noon Lion's Club will be providing use of a tent for the day. All members need to solicite previous and potential sponsors for their support. Lion Tim Brehm circulated a notice for the installation dinner. It will be held on Wednesday June 19th at The Legacy. Cocktails will be at 6:00 p.m. and dinner at 7:00 p.m. The cost of the dinner is $15.00 per person. Lion Tim Brehm needs to have your reservations and dinner choice by June 5th, 2002. Lion Jon Tews will arrange for a district officer to be present for the installation of the new officers. There will be no luncheon meeting that day. |

Don Fell of the Habitat for Humanity spoke of the organization and it goals. The Habitat was founded by Millard Fuller in 1976 and currently has over 1496 affiliates in Canada and the US and 377 affiliates over seas. They have built over 100,000 homes worldwide. |
