Minutes of the New Berlin Industrial Lions Club The regular meeting of the New Berlin Industrial Lions Club, held at Citizens Bank of Mukwanago, New Berlin,on Wednesday, September 5th, 2001, was called to order by President Lion John Tews at 12:15 p.m. and followed by the Pledge of Allegiance, the singing of America, and table grace. The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as printed. There were 14 Lions present. New Business -A review of committee assignments was made with a change reflecting Lion Jerry Louward as Bowling chair and the election of Lion Ron Kase as Membership chair. It was moved and seconded that the Club would donate $200 to the Diabetes Foundation through a sponsorship of a person in a walk for that cause. The Bocce Ball Tournament was discussed and a concern was raised about when it would be scheduled. It was decided that the discussion would continue as to the best time to have the tournament again at the VFW. Lion Del Gigante was willing to work with the Club to continue the opportunity and possibly add additional lanes. On October 17th Lion President John Tews has invited David O'Neil to speak to fund-raising ideas. The possibility of a November meeting for the Mayor's Update was presented. The Contributions Committee gave a brief report. Old Business - Lengthy discussion continued on ideas and efforts for membership recruitment. A review of previous efforts including door-to-door visits, mailings, and invited guests were included in the discussions. An idea of possibly visiting a Park Business/facility was presented and assigned to lions Ted and Ken Matthison. There were no raffles.
